Still Waters

For Vogue Arabia's summer editorial, we brought haute couture to the rocky Atlantic coast south of Essaouira. The concept was contradiction: delicate fabrics against brutal geology, precise tailoring in an untamed landscape. We shot at the slowest possible pace — long, contemplative takes on a dolly along the tideline. The ARRI Alexa 35 gave us the latitude to hold detail in both the white fabrics and the dark volcanic rock without compromise.

Fashion film is often about abundance — more setups, more angles, more options. We went the opposite direction. Each garment got a single, definitive shot. One angle. One movement. The discipline forced us to be intentional about every element in the frame: the position of the horizon, the timing of the waves, the exact moment the wind catches the fabric. Restraint became the aesthetic.
